Abstract
In 1951, Jean Giono brought out Le hussard sur le toit, which deals with the adventure of Angelo Pardi, through Provence, in particular, Manosque, plagued by a cholera epidemic, particularly around 1830, at a time when medicine did not yet have effective means to eradicate evil. Thus, will be presented the ill effects on the population, until the inoculation of death.
